Announcements for September 23, 2018

Continuing on Monday, September 24th at 6:00pm Pastor Chris will be offering a class entitled “Making Life Better.”  In this class, you will see how God has made your life better by reviewing your past, changing your present and transforming your future.  This course covers the basic truths of the Christian faith and is offered to newcomers and long-time Christians alike.  Come marvel at what God has done for you!  Contact Pastor Chris at 792-9788 for more information. The class will meet every Monday evening for 13 weeks.

Join us for Toddler Time on Wednesdays at 10:00am! Toddler Time is an hour of multi-sensory play, stories, and snacks for children age 0 to 5 years and their parents. Please contact Cara Ewings (792-9388), Kelsey Circle (545-5831) or Robin Brooks (351-1303) for more info.

Women’s Bible Study meets this Saturday, September 29 at 10am in the fellowship hall at Faith to study Chapter 4: The Widow and Her Son from the book The Heart of Jesus.  We hope you will join us!

Please join us Friday night, October 5th, at 6:30pm.  We will be painting/decorating canvas letters to use to spell out a Bible Passage that will be on display on the wall in our downstairs hallway.  Snacks will be provided.

Wisdom is calling out to you! In our Sunday morning Bible studies we will be taking a look at the Book of Proverbs over the next several weeks. The practical advice shared in this Book is immediately applicable for your life today. We will touch on topics like friendship, money, love, health, work ethic, parenting, marriage and more! Come join us at 9:07 (Alaskan Bible study time) in this interactive study of God’s Word.

We’d love to see your kids in Sunday School! Bring your preschool to 6th grade children at 9:07am to hear the stories from the Bible and learn God’s Word.  If you are interested in teaching for a few weeks during the coming months, please speak with Pastor Chris.

Faith Lutheran Church and Schools will remain founded on Holy Scripture. To be alive in Christ, we will be nurtured by the Gospel and loved and encouraged by one another. With vibrant life in Him, we will be edified to organize and grow cohesive Gospel ministries. To share life in Christ, our ministries will be outward focused, and we will be involved with and engaged in the community of Anchorage, Alaska.

Men’s Bible Study will meet at 9:00am on Saturday, October 13th at Barbie’s CafĂ© (6728 Lake Otis Pkwy). By popular demand, we’re taking a tour of the Minor Prophets with a Bible study we’ve called “Sound bytes of the Old Testaments.” We will be discussing the Book of Habakkuk chapter 2.  All are welcome and invited!

The Annual Joint Reformation Service will be held at Faith on October 28 at 4:30pm.  Members from our churches in Juneau, Fairbanks, Kenai, Wasilla, Eagle River and Anchorage will be attending.  Come and celebrate the Christian faith which unites us all!

The Annual Alaska Conference of Pastors and Teachers will be held on November 1st and 2nd.  WELS pastors and teachers from across the state will be enjoying a conference hosted by Grace Lutheran Church in Kenai.

Enjoy the Convenience of Electronic Giving. Just a reminder Faith Lutheran Church offers electronic giving as a way to automate your regular weekly offering.  Because your donation is given consistently, you won’t need to play “catch-up” when you are sick, traveling or when other circumstances prevent you from attending services.  As you contemplate future contributions, please consider electronic giving.  Authorization forms and additional information are available in the Fellowship Hall and from the church office.
