Announcements for December 30, 2018

Join us at Faith on December 31 for New Year’s worship. Come on Monday at 6:00pm and reflect on what it means to live every day in the name of Jesus. Amid change and the passing of time, God has placed His name on us, and that blessing is constant. Come meditate on God’s everlasting consistency in our ever changing lives. We will celebrate Holy Communion at this special service.

On Saturday, January 5th at 4 pm, Faith will be hosting Epiphany by Candlelight. The women of our church and area WELS churches—as well as neighbors, friends, and any women who would like a peaceful break after the craziness of the holidays —are invited to celebrate with us. If you are able, please RSVP through Facebook Messenger or by speaking with Cara Ewings or Joy Bromaghin. See you there!
To celebrate Epiphany on January 6th we will have a Sharing Faith Worship Service at 10:30am for the English and Spanish speaking people of Faith.  After the worship service, all are welcome and invited to a potluck lunch  Bring a dish to share or just bring yourself.  We pray that you are able to join us!

Small Group Bible Studies will begin in 2019! In the ministry plan that we adopted as a congregation, the vision reads, “To be alive in Christ, we will be nurtured by the Gospel and loved and encouraged by one another.” One way we will accomplish this is by adding a Bible study component to our ministry called, “Faith Alive.” These Bible study groups are designed to promote vibrant life in Christ, all from the comfort of your own home! These Bible studies will meet on a regular basis for short periods of time—between 4-6 weeks. If you are interested in attending or hosting a Bible study, please speak with one of the pastors or write your name on the sign up sheet in the fellowship hall.

Tuesday Teen Night is an opportunity for the youth of our congregation to gather together for worship and fellowship. We invite anyone who is currently enrolled in Catechism class or has been confirmed to a special worship service at 6:00pm on Tuesdays. Youth from Faith, Faith Hmong and Iglesia Luterana and their friends are enjoying this gathering—we hope you can make it, too! Due to the holiday season, our next gathering will be Tuesday, January 8th.

Join us for Toddler Time on Wednesdays at 10:00am! Toddler Time is an hour of multi-sensory play, stories, and snacks for children ages 0 to 5 years and their parents. Please contact Cara Ewings (907) 792-9388, for more information.  Due to the holidays, our next Toddler Time will be Wednesday, January 9th.

Men’s Bible Study will meet at 9:00am on Saturday, January 12th at Barbie’s Café (6728 Lake Otis Pkwy). By popular demand, we’re taking a tour of the Minor Prophets with a Bible study we’ve called “Sound bytes of the Old Testament.” We will be discussing the Book of Amos chapter 3.  All are welcome and invited!

Women’s Bible Study will meet at 10:00am Saturday, January 26th in the fellowship hall at Faith to study Chapter 3: Anna and Simon’s Mother-in-Law from the book The Heart of Jesus.  We hope you will join us!

On the Sundays you are unable to attend church, you may watch the service online. You can view it live or any time after the service is finished. Follow the link for Livestream on our website at FaithAlaska.com.
