Announcements for May 19


Camp Luther’s the greatest! A special thank you to Home Depot Tudor manager Jason DeJardin for donating a new stove and fridge to Camp Luther. This is a great start to some much needed updating. If you would like more information about how you can help with Camp Luther, join us for a a meeting at Faith today after the congregational meeting or speak with Fred Koenig or Pastor Chris. 

Please join us on Friday, May 31st at 6:00pm for a farewell BBQ for Miss Mittelstadt. If you are able to bring items, there are sign up sheets in the Fellowship Hall and downstairs on the school bulletin board. Our annual parking lot sale is Saturday, June 1, 10:00am-3:00pm.  Setup begins at 7:30am.  If you have items to donate, you can drop them off here on May 23rd and 24th between 9:00am and 3:00pm, on the morning of June 1st, or by appointment (563-3499).  We still need help to set up, run the sale, and tear down. Volunteers are asked to sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0a44a5a723a20-parking.  The blood drive, however, has been postponed until fall.

The Lord has answered our prayers by graciously providing us with a Preschool Director and Lead Teacher. On Saturday, May 18, the Lord of the Church Called Ms. Stephanie Rockhoff to serve among us. Above all, be sure to keep Stephanie in your prayers as she prepares to minister among us, that the Lord would give her and us all we need to serve Him!

Women’s Bible Study will meet at 10:00am Saturday, May 25th in the fellowship hall at Faith to study Chapter 7: The Dead Girl and the Sick Woman from the book The Heart of Jesus. This will be our final Bible study until August. We hope you will join us!

Travelers keep up with regular offerings by giving electronically.  Just as you rely upon receiving income on a regular basis, Faith Lutheran Church relies on your regular contributions.  We appreciate the efforts of congregation members to make consistent donations throughout the year especially during popular summer travel periods.  To assist you, the church provides a convenient electronic giving option for setting up regular contributions.  For information or to enroll, please contact the office at 563-3499 or office@FaithAlaska.com.

Announcements for May 12


Tuesday Teen Night is an opportunity for the youth of our congregation to gather together for worship and fellowship. Join us for a special worship service at 6:00pm on Tuesdays. Youth from Faith, Faith Hmong and Iglesia Luterana and their friends are enjoying this gathering—we hope you can make it, too!

Join us for Toddler Time on Wednesdays at 10:00am! Toddler Time is an hour of multi-sensory play, stories, and snacks for children ages 0 to 5 years and their parents. If you would like more information about this event, please contact Cara Ewings at (907) 792-9388.

By popular demand, we’re taking a tour of the Minor Prophets with a Bible study we’ve called “Sound bytes of the Old Testament.” We will be discussing the Book of Amos chapter 7.  All are welcome and invited!

The Annual Congregational meeting will be on Sunday, May 19. We will have a Sharing Faith Service followed by a potluck lunch. The meeting will follow immediately after the meal. If you are interested in serving on any of the committees, please speak with Jim Aumann.

Education - Teaching the Gospel
School Board - Oversees the operation of the school
Fellowship - Reaching those inside the church
Outreach - Reaching those outside the church 
Finance - Oversees the financial aspects of the church
Stewardship - Encouraging others to use their God given talents
Property - Caring for the physical church
Additionally, the leadership will update the congregation on our progress against the strategic plan. Your presence and participation are critical to accomplishing the ministry Christ has entrusted to our care!

If you are unable to donate blood, we need volunteers to provide cookies and to facilitate the donation process that day. Announcements for May 5


Continuing on Monday, May 6 at 6:00pm, our pastors will be offering a class entitled “Making Life Better.”  In this class, you will see how God has made your life better by reviewing your past, changing your present and transforming your future. Come on Monday night and hear how God wants to transform your relationship with the church!

Let’s go for a hike! As we move into Spring, join the Fellowship Committee in getting outside at Westchester Lagoon on Saturday, May 11th at 2:00 PM for an easy walk/hike along the Coastal Trail. Be sure to bring all the gear you’ll need—a good pair of shoes, some water to stay hydrated, a snack and a friend. See you on the trails!

Announcements for April 28


Faith Lutheran Church and Schools will remain founded on Holy Scripture. To be alive in Christ, we will be nurtured by the Gospel and loved and encouraged by one another. With vibrant life in Him, we will be edified to organize and grow cohesive Gospel ministries. To share life in Christ, our ministries will be outward focused, and we will be involved with and engaged in the community of Anchorage, Alaska.

At this Bible study, we are studying the Small Catechism to see how its timeless truths touch our lives as men of the Word. All are welcome and invited to join us.
