Announcements from May 15th

Congregational Meeting and Call Update
Last Sunday at 4:00, the people of Faith got together to determine how we could best serve the children of our church and community with our school.  The congregation voted to refrain from calling a principal in this coming year.  Instead, the classrooms will be reconfigured so that Mrs. Z. will teach grades 1-4 and Mr. Z. will teach grades 5-8 as well as serving as the interim administrator of the school. We will continue with our strong preschool ministry led by Melissa Mittelstadt.  Additionally, the congregation voted to call  a Kindergarten teacher. The Lord has answered our prayers by blessing our congregation with Leah Snyder who graduated from Martin Luther College yesterday. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!
In addition to these changes, the congregation voted to establish a Board of Education which will be led by laypeople of our congregation and possibly other WELS congregations. For more information, contact Channing Lillo.

As summer is quickly approaching and we all begin enjoying the great state of Alaska, remember the ministry of the church does not take a vacation.  One way to consistently support our church is through electronic giving to automate your weekly offering.  Electronic giving is a convenient way to keep up with your intended offerings when you are traveling or other circumstances prevent you from attending the services.  To sign up contact Sheila Lillo in the office at 563-3499 or FaithLutheran@gci.net.

Announcements for May 1st

Congregational Meeting - May 8th

Thank you to all who participated in the WELS school assessment.  The input we have received is very helpful and gives a good roadmap for improving our school.  We can now take these recommendations and make a plan for the school’s future.  The first step in that plan is making a decision on the principal position and calling a kindergarten teacher.

On May 8th at 4:00pm we will hold a congregational meeting to discuss the calls and answer any questions regarding the assessment.  Time is of the essence as the deadline for calling a graduate is upon us.  Please join us in making these important decisions.

The ladies of the Hmong congregation are hosting a pho feed to raise money to send members to the Annual Conference in St. Paul, Minnesota. Come enjoy some a spectacular soup and support our Hmong congregation.
