Announcements for September 16, 2018

Wisdom is calling out to you! In our Sunday morning Bible studies we will be taking a look at the Book of Proverbs over the next several weeks. The practical advice shared in this Book is immediately applicable for your life today. We will touch on topics like friendship, money, love, health, work ethic, parenting, marriage and more! Come join us at 9:07 (Alaskan Bible study time) in this interactive study of God’s Word.

Continuing on Monday, September 17th at 6:00pm Pastor Chris will be offering a class entitled “Making Life Better.”  In this class, you will see how God has made your life better by reviewing your past, changing your present and transforming your future.  This course covers the basic truths of the Christian faith and is offered to newcomers and long-time Christians alike.  Come marvel at what God has done for you!  Contact Pastor Chris at 792-9788 for more information. The class will meet every Monday evening for 15 weeks.

Join us for Toddler Time on Wednesdays at 10:00am! Toddler Time is an hour of multi-sensory play, stories, and snacks for children age 0 to 5 years and their parents. Please contact Cara Ewings (792-9388), Kelsey Circle (545-5831) or Robin Brooks (351-1303) for more info.

Committee and Board for Lay Ministry meetings are this Thursday, September 20th.  The meetings will begin at 6:00pm with a devotion in the fellowship hall.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Relocation plans are underway to move Pastor Nate Wagenknecht, his wife Julia, and two children to Alaska. We expect their arrival in the first week or so of October. The family's current circumstances preclude them from purchasing a home in Anchorage prior to their arrival and they'll begin a home search in earnest once they're here.
In the meantime they'll need temporary housing for some weeks or months. They will need a two bedroom apartment or home and some amount of storage for household goods that don't fit in the living space. Storage and living space don't necessarily need to be at the same property.
My ask is this: Can any of you provide a temporary living space? Can anyone provide a storage space? Can you provide either at a reduced rental rate? Can anyone provide financial assistance to give them a leg up on a down payment? Do you know someone who may be in a position to help?
What a great opportunity to serve the Lord's church and this family of servants! I pray that one or some of you may be able to respond to this request. If this is a possibility please contact Jeff Wockenfuss or myself:
Jeff Wockenfuss: jeff.wockenfuss@gmail.com or 907-952-2389
Jim Aumann: uberjima@gmail.com or 907-223-2854
God's blessings to each and every one of you!

“I would like to extend a thank you to the members of Faith Lutheran Church and the families of Faith Lutheran School for giving me such a warm welcome to Alaska. Thank you for all your encouraging words and help as I made the transition up to Anchorage and for your generous gifts. I am incredibly blessed to live and work with all of you. To God alone be glory!”  In Christ, Heidi Kruger
