Continuing on Monday, May 6 at 6:00pm, our pastors will be offering a class entitled “Making Life Better.”  In this class, you will see how God has made your life better by reviewing your past, changing your present and transforming your future. Come on Monday night and hear how God wants to transform your relationship with the church!

Tuesday Teen Night is an opportunity for the youth of our congregation to gather together for worship and fellowship. Join us for a special worship service at 6:00pm on Tuesdays. Youth from Faith, Faith Hmong and Iglesia Luterana and their friends are enjoying this gathering—we hope you can make it, too!

Join us for Toddler Time on Wednesdays at 10:00am! Toddler Time is an hour of multi-sensory play, stories, and snacks for children ages 0 to 5 years and their parents. If you would like more information about this event, please contact Cara Ewings at (907) 792-9388.

Let’s go for a hike! As we move into Spring, join the Fellowship Committee in getting outside at Westchester Lagoon on Saturday, May 11th at 2:00 PM for an easy walk/hike along the Coastal Trail. Be sure to bring all the gear you’ll need—a good pair of shoes, some water to stay hydrated, a snack and a friend. See you on the trails!

Men’s Bible Study will meet at 9:00am on Saturday, May 18th at Barbie’s Café (6728 Lake Otis Pkwy). By popular demand, we’re taking a tour of the Minor Prophets with a Bible study we’ve called “Sound bytes of the Old Testament.” We will be discussing the Book of Amos chapter 7.  All are welcome and invited! 

Please join us on Friday, May 31st at 6:00pm for a farewell BBQ for Miss Mittelstadt. If you are able to bring items, there are sign up sheets in the Fellowship Hall and downstairs on the school bulletin board. The Annual Congregational meeting will be on Sunday, May 19. We will have a Sharing Faith Service followed by a potluck lunch. The meeting will follow immediately after the meal. If you are interested in serving on any of the committees, please speak with Jim Aumann.

Faith is hosting a blood drive Saturday, June 1, 10:00am-3:00pm. There is an appointment sheet at the top of the stairs to reserve a donation time. If you are unable to donate blood, we need volunteers to provide cookies and to facilitate the donation process that day. Who’s thinking about summer? This summer we will have plenty of opportunities for the children of our congregation and our community to have fun and grow in their faith. We have four, week-long camps:

July 14-18 Camp Luther

We have four different groups of helpers coming up from the Lower 48 for these camps. Please contact Pastor Chris for more information.

At this Bible study, we are studying the Small Catechism to see how its timeless truths touch our lives as men of the Word. All are welcome and invited to join us. We have extended a divine Call to Mrs. Lauren Thiele of Menasha, WI, to serve as our Preschool Director and Lead Teacher for the next school year. Please pray for her and her husband Connor as they deliberate where she can best serve God’s kingdom. Additionally, please encourage them via phone call, text, or email. Good Friday is a time to reflect on the life and death of our Savior, Jesus. Although solemn and somber, the service is not a funeral for Jesus but austere celebration of the Lamb and His sacrifice to save us. Join us for Good Friday Tenebrae (Service of Darkness) this Friday at 6:30pm to see what God has done to save the world and you!

Easter is a time to be joyful, hopeful and to find life in the unlikeliest of places. Join us on April 21st at 8:00 and 10:30 for an Easter worship service and an Easter hymn sing at 9:15. We will also be serving a free Easter breakfast all morning. All are welcome and invited!

Pastor Hackmann, the pastor at Peace in Eagle River, has accepted a divine Call to serve in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Bring your whole family to Faith for some Easter fun! On Saturday, April 13th, families are invited from 9:00am-12:00pm for some fun Easter activities. Come and hear the Easter story, dye eggs, make crafts, play games and go on an Easter egg hunt!

Cyclone Idai has touched the lives of our fellow saints in Africa.  Visit the CAMM website, www.camm.us, or the CAMM and Kingdom Workers Facebook pages where you can find letters and pictures of the flood damage.  If anyone would like to make a donation for disaster relief, you can do so on the CAMM website or through WELS Committee for Aid and Relief.  Prayers are always welcome and needed.

Ms. Kelli Baas has declined our Call to serve Faith Lutheran Preschool as Early Education Director and Lead Teacher. There will be a call meeting Sunday, April 7 in the sanctuary immediately following 10:30 worship. Folks will have a chance to stretch and refresh for 10 minutes or so after the worship service and then reconvene for the Call meeting. We strongly encourage everyone to attend!

During the season of Lent we will have special midweek worship services on Wednesdays for the next three weeks until April 10.  We will have one service beginning at 3:00 and an identical service at 6:30.  There will be a soup supper beginning at 6:00. The theme for the 2019 Lenten services is “Three Words of Truth.” Each service focuses on a three-word phrase from the record of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection.

Do you have questions about our plans for Faith Lutheran School? Come this Thursday, March 28 at 6:30pm for an open forum to discuss the future of our school. All are welcome and invited to participate. 

Thank you to all who volunteered to host students from MLHS! Michigan Lutheran High School is sending up a team of 8 students and chaperones during their spring break. They arrive on March 30 and leave April 6. Would you be able to help with a meal? If you’re able to help in this way, please sign up on the sheet in the fellowship hall.
