Updating the church directory.

Cake Decorating Fundraiser Saturday, May 14th 10:00 - Noon. 

A Faith Lutheran School parent and chef is teaching the Wilton Method of Cake Decorating, Five Steps to a Great Cake.  All the proceeds from this class will be donated to the Sprinkler Fund.  The cost is $30 with supplies and icing provided.  Bring an eight inch cake ready to be decorated.  Sign up soon as space is limited!  Contact Sheila Lillo at 229-7901 to sign up or for more information.

This summer, Faith will have a youth group coming to help with our soccer camp.  

Housing is needed for the group coming up from Our Redeemer in Madison, Wisconsin.  There will be 15 high-schoolers and 9 chaperones.  We will need to provide accommodations beginning June 26^th until the morning of July 3^rd.  Call or text Pastor Chris for more information at 792-9788.

Wondering what to do with the unwanted items?  We have a solution!  Set them aside until May 21st for the school and camp parking lot sale.  The proceeds from this sale will benefit the sprinkler fund and the school.  Due to limited storage at this facility, please keep your items until May 16th.

Roadside Cleanup on Saturday, April 23rd 10:00am.  

We will meet at Earthquake park at 10:00am.  Be sure to bring gloves. If you have reflective gear, this is a great time to use it.  Because we will be by the roadside, this activity is best left to older kids and adults.

Volunteering for AWAIC, Abused Women’s Aid In Crisis on Sunday, April 24th at 2:00pm. 

Ladies of Faith!  Please let Kathy Hester know if you’d like to volunteer to organize the donations closet at AWAIC, a shelter for abused women and children.  AWAIC is extremely grateful for the volunteering we provide.

The Art of Marriage Friday, April 15 at 6:30. 

Pastor Chris will be leading a Bible study for couples called “The Art of Marriage.” The class will be held at the home of Paul and Bev Lembke.  The Bible study is 5 weeks long and touches on topics such as God’s purpose and plan for marriage, how to overcome isolation, fulfilling responsibilities, dealing with communication and conflict, and experiencing real intimacy.  The class will be beneficial to both the pros and the novices in marriage, to those who are going strong and to those who are struggling.  All are welcome and invited.  You can be sure that you will be blessed!  Call or text Pastor Chris for more information: (907) 792-9788.

Member Information Updates

Kathy Hester is making sure all member information is current.  Please check with her if you have any changes or corrections.  She is also taking pictures for a new member directory.  Be  sure to have your family's picture taken before summer. 

Announcements Week of March 20th

Call Update:  On Sunday, March 20th, we called two people to serve at Faith.  Benjamin Pagel to serve as principal and teacher for grades 6,7, & 8.  Principal Pagel currently serves at Our Savior's Lutheran School in Peridot, Arizona.  Angela Schwartz to serve as a kindergarten teacher.  Miss Schwartz currently teaches at Grace Lutheran School in Kenai, Alaska.  

Please pray for these teachers as they consider both the calls they now hold.

Seder Dinner on Maundy Thursday, March 24th at 6:00pm.  Come partake of a worship service that will show us the beautiful  relationship between the Passover meal and the Lord’s Supper.  While the service contains many Jewish elements, it is unabashedly Christian in nature.  All are welcome and invited to attend.    If you would like to provide items for the meal, there is a sign up sheet in the hallway.

Join us on Saturday, March 19th for Easter for Families!  Come enjoy an Easter egg hunt, egg decorating, and a multisensory journey that explores the events surrounding Easter.  Stop in any time between 10:00 and 2:00.  We will see you there!

On Saturday, March 19th at 2:00pm we will be canvassing the neighborhood.  We have 600 door hangers to let people know about our Easter services.  We will also have invitations for you to take home and share with friends.

Announcements for the Week of March 6th

Call Update - 
Principal Joshua Walker and Miss Rachel Taasaas have both returned the calls they received to serve at Faith.  We will have a call meeting immediately after the service on March 13th to call both a principal and  kindergarten teacher.  Please make every effort to attend.

Men’s Bible Study meets on the 2nd Saturday of the month at 9:00am.  The next meeting is March 12th.  The current study is “Five Things You Can Do to Live a Jesus-Centered Life” and is led by Pastor Ewings.  The group meets at Barbie’s Café on Lake Otis Parkway.  Contact Pastor Ewings at 792-9788 to sign up or order a book.

 Ladies’ Craft Day - March 12th  10:00 - 2:00.  This month bring a new craft to learn.  We will enjoy a devotion and snacks as we work on our projects.  Bring any project to work on even if it isn’t new.   Contact Claire Zarnstorff at 792-9688 for more information.

First Annual Ice Fishing Tournament - Join us on Saturday, March 12 at Sand Lake at 10:30 for the first annual Faith Lutheran ice fishing tournament!  All are welcome and invited to participate in this family event.  We will have gear available for all to use if you don’t have any of your own.  Bring what you have.  Not only will you have the chance to enjoy some fellowship with the people of Faith, there will be prizes as well!  Fish on!

Mondays at 6:30pm, Pastor Chris is offering a class entitled “Making Life Better.”  In this version of Inquirer’s Class, you will see how God has made your life better by reviewing your past, changing your present and transforming your future.  This course covers the basic truths of the Christian faith and is offered to newcomers and long-time Christians alike.  Come marvel at what God has done for you!
